MEMPHIS, TN – Christ Community Health Services is proud to join health centers across the country in celebrating National Health Center Week (NHCW). This special time recognizes the vital role community health centers play in providing care to millions of Americans, especially in underserved areas.
This year’s celebration holds even greater meaning as Christ Community marks 30 years of service to Memphis and West Tennessee. Founded in 1995 by four committed medical students, Christ Community has grown into one of the largest faith-based federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) in the country.
With locations placed intentionally in neighborhoods with the greatest need, Christ Community provides comprehensive services including medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, nutrition, and social support. In 2024 alone, the organization delivered over 185,000 visits, each one representing a life impacted and a family supported.
What is National Health Center Week?
National Health Center Week is an annual celebration that honors the mission and accomplishments of community health centers across the United States. It brings awareness to the essential services these centers provide and the critical role they play in improving health outcomes for individuals and families who might otherwise go without care.
For Christ Community, this week is more than a celebration. It is a chance to recommit to the mission of delivering care with compassion, faith, and excellence.
