Christ Community Health Services will be closed in observance of Christmas on Monday, December 25th and Tuesday, December 26th. Our health centers will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, December 27th.

You are invited to participate in The Community Action Poverty Simulation at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR! How the simulation works? The Community Action Poverty Simulation is a tool that helps participants rethink the challenges that millions of low income individuals must face each and every day. More importantly, this tool helps people identify areas of change that can directly impact the effects of poverty on individuals, families and communities. This simulation will take place on Friday, October 13th from 11-1 pm and the next session from 1:30-3:30 pm. Christ Community Health Services is welcoming our local elected officials to a community brunch where we share how we can make an impact in our communities. This event is INVITE ONLY.

What: Teen Empowerment Group for Adolescent Girls Ages 14-18 When/Where: Groups begin Monday Sept. 25th and will meet weekly for 10 weeks (excluding holidays) Mondays 3:30pm - 4:30pm in-person at Raleigh Family Solutions, 3481 Austin Peay, Memphis, TN 38128 Tuesdays 3:30pm - 4:30pm virtual via video conferencing. This is a counseling group for high school girls to learn how to handle stress, develop healthy coping skills, and create strategies for self-care. Snacks will be provided for in-person meetings. Christ Community Health Services will be hosting a 1 day Continuing Education Workshop about stopping the ascending suicide trends in the community. Through didactics, discussion, video and simulations, learners will increase their competence, confidence and comfort managing suicidal patients. Learners will develop the most contemporary skills in evidence-based risk assessment, management and clinical decision making. Lunch will be provided. This is a HYBRID training, with both in person and virtual options. If you plan to attend virtually, we ask that you make sure you have a private, quiet space where you can have your camera on. This workshop will be interactive, and your breakout room partner(s) will need you to be ready when it is time to practice. This training is open to all Healthcare Professionals. A trainee rate is available, and there will be a limited number of volunteer positions available that will discount the registration price. Access to quality training is a value of our program. In partnership with Baptist Memorial Hospital. CCHS will have a vendor table at the tailgate of the Southern Heritage Classic. Enjoy food, fun, and a variety of heart-healthy activities, including blood pressure screenings, ankle-brachial index (ABI) testing, CPR demonstrations, stroke education, giveaways and much more! This event is located at Tiger Lane at Liberty Park, RV Lot 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All Christ Community locations will be closed on Monday, September 4, in observance of Labor Day. Our health centers will be open for regular business hours on Tuesday, September 5th.

Want to learn more about volunteer opportunities? Join us for an information session on Monday, August 28th from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments and beverages will be available for all who attend. Local missions conference at Second Presbyterian Church. Christ Community Health Services will have a vendor table at Second Presbyterian Church. The ministry will also recognize and pray for organizations during both services. First service starts at 8:15 a.m. and second service starts at 11 a.m. This event is on Sunday, August 27th. As a reminder, this week starts our Annual Back-to-School Immunization fair at our School-Based Health Centers. Starting at East High School tomorrow, we will have a special GIVEAWAY for students who attend the immunization fair. View the flyer for other dates, locations, and times.
