Meet the Leader Behind the Mission

Tracy McDaniel – President and CEO of Christ Community Health Services

MEMPHIS, TN – As Christ Community Health Services celebrates 30 years of healing, hope, and service, it is the perfect time to introduce the leader guiding the organization into its next chapter: Tracy McDaniel, CEO and President.

Founded in 1995 by four visionary medical students, Christ Community has grown into one of the largest faith-based, federally qualified health centers in the country. Under Tracy’s leadership, the organization has remained focused on its mission to provide high-quality, compassionate care to communities with the greatest need.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Tracy brings more than five years of senior leadership experience in Federally Qualified Health Centers. His work has centered on expanding healthcare access and building financial strength within community health organizations. He earned his Master of Public Health from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor of Arts from Morehouse College in Atlanta. His education and career reflect a deep passion for service and a strong belief in healthcare as a fundamental right for all people.

“This 30-year milestone is not just a celebration of our history but a recommitment to the communities we serve,” said McDaniel. “I want to personally thank our Board of Directors for their steady guidance, our staff for their commitment to care, and our patients for placing their trust in us. You are the reason we do what we do.”

Continuing a Legacy of Care

For three decades, Christ Community has placed its health centers directly in underserved neighborhoods across Memphis and West Tennessee, offering accessible, integrated services that include medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, nutrition, and social support. These centers are designed to care for the whole person and to meet the full spectrum of healthcare needs.

In 2024, Christ Community provided:

150,957 medical visits

26,011 dental visits

8,203 behavioral health visitsTotal: 185,171 patient visits, each one representing a life touched and a community strengthened.

The organization supports every stage of life, from prenatal and pediatric care to services for adults and seniors. It serves those experiencing homelessness, supports people living with HIV through the Ryan White Program, and cares for many immigrants and refugees who are building new lives in Memphis.

A Vision Rooted in Faith and Service

With a focus on patient-centered care, Tracy McDaniel is leading Christ Community into the future with bold ideas and a deep commitment to faith-driven service. The organization continues to evolve while remaining grounded in its mission to provide care that is affordable, accessible, and filled with compassion.

“As we move forward, we will continue to build stronger, healthier communities,” said McDaniel. “One patient, one family, one neighborhood at a time. With faith, love, and purpose, we are just getting started.”

Christ Community accepts most insurance plans and serves all patients regardless of their ability to pay. Each health center is a place where people are treated with dignity and welcomed with the love of Christ.
