Mid-South Community Marriage Policy

America’s greatest national crisis is the breakdown of the family. Since 1960, divorces have tripled, the marriage rate has plummeted 39%, cohabitation has increased eleven-fold, and approximately half of all new marriages are ending in divorce.

How can we stop the crisis and begin to build stronger marriages and families?

Families Matter believes that by working collectively to make marriage and family a higher priority and by better equipping our leaders, particularly those in religious institutions, we can reverse the epidemic of divorce and its negative consequences.

In order to publicly proclaim our commitment to making a difference in Memphis and the Mid-South, Families Matter is encouraging representatives from religious institutions and community organizations to endorse the Mid-South Community Marriage Policy. This Policy serves as a community pledge to make marriages a priority through rigorous premarital preparation, marriage enrichment, and restoration activities.

Many Mid-South faith leaders have already signed the Policy. Won't you?
